34 Years Ago ~ Petition Filed for Name Change

August 10, 1978
Petition Filed
Praying For The Change Of My Name

Legal Name Change from
Edward J. Wagner to Edward J. Klecka

After my father passed away, the above newspaper clipping
was with his personal belongings.
What's amazing is that from about the age of five
my father went by the name Edward J. Klecka.
He went through school, married my mom,
had five children, and he even went through the
United States Military using the name Edward J. Klecka.
Apparently, he did this without his name ever 'legally'
being changed from Edward J. Wagner.
The only thing I can think of is that
he assumed it had been changed, and probably around
the time of creating his Trusts, had to do so legally.
And the one thing we all know ~ no doubt about it ~
he always was Edward J. Klecka!

102 Years Ago Today ~

If my Grandfather Edward J. Wagner were alive today . . .
He would have turned 102 Years Old!
His name was Edward Joseph Wagner, born on 30 June 1910
In Chicago, Illinois.
He passes away on 09 February 1976, in Santa Barbara, California.
He married my Grandmother Frances Elinore Siwinski.
Marriage date unknown, assuming between 1930 & 1934
in Cook County, Chicago, Illinois.
Father's name is Joseph, born in Germany
& Mother's name is Helen Radlow, born in Illinois.
(Info. from Death Certificate).
He was also married to Margaret Aileen Sullivan
in Davenport, Scott, Iowa in August 1940 and
was married to Stella Hall-Wagner at the time of his death.
This is pretty much all I know of him.
How sad is it that he lived only 3 hours from his grandchildren,
five of us, and we never met him!
I'm hoping that maybe - someone will read this and see a
connection and I can get answers for my family tree.
Or possibly, find some cousins!

Today ~ It's Your Birthday!

Happy 4th of July, 2011
& Happy Birthday Aunt Carol!
Carol is my father's sister whom I discovered just
last year while looking for information on my
father's birth father  ~ Edward J. Wagner.
While growing up, Carol heard she may
have a brother.  I think we were both surprised to realize
that she not only has a brother, but
nieces & nephews too!  We now have a new Aunt -
which I  hope to meet very soon!
